Aloha HBOTS.  My name is Alayna Maldonado and I have been teaching fourth grade at Hawking for the past four years and loving it.  After earning my teaching credential and Masters in Cross-Cultural Education from National University, I taught for four years in California before moving to the 50th state due to my husband’s service in the US Coast Guard.  I taught there for ten years, but I’m really excited to be teaching in my home state of California.

I have a sixth-grader at Hawking, and she shares with me each day all of the exciting things she is learning and how much she loves her teacher.  I am thrilled to be a part of such a positive and engaging program.  When I’m not at school, I enjoy reading, going to the beach, watching my daughter play sports, and exploring the great state of California.
