2ND GRADE TEACHERS

Hello, my name is Adriana De La Torre. I have been a teacher at Hawking STEAM Charter since 2012. I am passionate about teaching and am especially passionate about teaching students at Hawking. I have taught both Kindergarten and second grade. I was born and raised in San Diego and studied Sociology at UC Riverside and received my teaching credential at San Diego State. When my students get to know me, they become invested in my belief in the importance of being an inquisitive life-long learner. I strive to make my classroom a safe and inviting space where curiosity takes hold and meaning-making is the norm. When I am not busy leading my students to read, write, or complete a STEAM challenge, I spend my time reading, hiking, and traveling the world with my husband.
