Hello HBot Students and Families and welcome to the 2018-19 school year!

I’m Dawna Halama, Special Education and Student Services Coordinator for Hawking STEAM Charter Schools. Although I only joined Hawking STEAM last April, I feel right at home in this warm and welcoming community. Thank you! I come to you with 22 years of education experience, 14 years as a classroom teacher in grades 2-6 and eight years as a charter school leader. In this role I have been an instructional leader, school administrator, and overseen English Learner and Special Education programs. My primary role at Hawking STEAM is to ensure that each and every child receives the support needed to fulfill his or her potential. I am thrilled that we have already established an effective Special Education program and that we are actively engaged in developing other programs to achieve this goal. It is my honor and a privilege to serve this wonderfully vibrant community of learners as we strive to fulfill our vision to Think, Create, Innovate, and Discover!
